Baby O, day 5 {ZLM photography Newborn Newnan Peachtree City}

olivianewborn21

There are no words for how beautiful this new baby truly is! She didn’t want to be moved but once we got her settled she let me pose her so sweetly.  Dad helped me out on the froggy pose and I used 2 images to make a composite in photoshop.  Baby safety is my first priority, always!

50 Most Beautiful Children {Beauty Revived Campaign}

2015-08-195

So honored and proud to be a small part of a wonderful movement called the “50 Most Beautiful Children” campaign.

Meet Kaitlyn. She is Beauty Revived.

“Beauty is just something that fools lots of people, it’s what is on the inside that counts” – 10-year old Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn has a life-threatening peanut allergy that truly dictates every aspect of her daily life. Her allergy is so severe, that she will go into anaphylactic shock if she ingests even the smallest particle of a peanut. This includes ingesting any product that has been produced at a facility that also produces peanut products, being touched by someone who has recently eaten a peanut, and even airborne particles such as those recirculated in a commercial airplane. Daily life is hard, and arguably harder on a such a young girl.
Kaitlyn has many limitations but is overcoming them with dignity and strength. She is taking action to change the way she lives her life. Kaitlyn has started an oral immunotherapy (OIT) treatment that she hopes will desensitize her immune system and potentially save her life.
Many children with severe allergies have struggles attending school. Kaitlyn is lucky enough to be enrolled in a small private school where her teachers and administrations understand the severity of her situation and are very supportive of keeping her safe. At such a small school, everyone knows about Kaitlyn’s condition. Her parents furnish epi-pens to all of her teachers. Kaitlyn also carries 2 of them on her person at all times. Although the goal is safety, she is tired of being the “girl in 4th grade with the purse”.
Every little girl has big dreams. Kaitlyn’s big dreams are ones that may seem small to the average kid; to fly on an airplane, to be able to eat a cookie cake with her friends, to be able to attend sleepovers, and to not have her loving Mom hover so closely. The risk of contamination is too great for her to enjoy birthday cake, cookies, or most any food that her parents cannot verify are 100% safe. Being left out of social functions and school parties has taken its toll on Kaitlyn emotionally. Kaitlyn’s big dreams are to “fly to Paris,” to eat at the Great American Cookie Company and to one day become an allergist!
Kaitlyn is living her life as normal as possible. She is an enthusiastic softball player and makes straight A’s. She is also an avid reader and writer and loves to keep journals of her daily life. She keeps a journal with her mom {kknaughtynuts.blogspot.com} where they share their trials and triumphs. Already, her blog has encouraged four other families to start OIT and overcome this life altering handicap!
Kaitlyn is so young, yet she has already given back to the community! She does so by educating her peers, teachers, and the community about this uncommon condition. She also participates in the FARE walk {http://www.foodallergywalk.org/atlanta2015/naughtynuts}. Kaitlyn was one of the highest fundraisers in Atlanta in 2014 and was recognized with a certificate. She is coming into her own and encouraging others to understand allergies, the impact on daily life, and how to overcome it! Kaitlyn has a heart much bigger than her age – one to envy. For her 10th birthday, she asked that her friends bring donations to the Coweta county food pantry lieu of gifts for her!
Kaitlyn’s generous spirit is one we should all aspire to – She is a beautiful little girl with a huge heart and is full of life and happiness! May we all remember that ”beauty is just something that fools lots of people, it’s what is on the inside that counts.”
